We’re thrilled to announce that we have been invited by Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) to develop Singapore’s first-ever game accelerator.
Together with PIXEL Studios, we will be creating a programme to equip promising game developers with all the skills they need to succeed in today’s competitive mobile app store landscape. This includes publishing, marketing and business entrepreneurship knowledge, amongst others.
This was formally announced during the official opening of PIXEL Studios (formerly known as Creators’ Space and Games Solution Centre), a IMDA-initiated space for online content creators and game developers, on 29 November 2016.
Our founder & CEO David has been a mentor with Games Solution Centre since June 2015, so this invitation was extended with first-hand knowledge of his passion and dedication to nurturing the next generation.
David is especially thrilled with this opportunity: “Having been in the industry for over a decade, I’ve seen the local gaming industry grow from strength to strength under continued support from IMDA. I also recognize the importance that mentorship can play in growing the gaming giants of tomorrow. This accelerator collaboration is my way of giving back, to nurture young creative talent and grow the industry I love—and I’m looking forward to more exciting made-in-Singapore games for years to come.”
As we frequently share with others, one of the great things about having our headquarters in Singapore is that the government agencies are extremely supportive. Once again, this IMDA initiative has proven that, and we are glad we can do our part to support it to help spur growth in the industry.
